Swallows & Amazons Forever, 5th May 2018

Talk at 6.15pm Supper at 7.30pm

In 1983 the BBC filmed a television series based upon Arthur Ransomes Coot Club and The Big Six.  The series was released in 1984 as an eight-part drama serial under the generic title ‘Swallows and Amazons Forever’.  The series was filmed in locations across the Norfolk Broads and included many local boats both in the starring roles and as floating extras.  35 years after the original filming Norfolk Broads Yacht Club is aiming to hold a reunion for some of the boats that featured in the TV series.  It is our aim to gather as many of the boats that appeared in the series as we are able at Wroxham Broad on the 5th May 2018.  if you know someone who has a boat that appeared in the series please ask them to contact NBYC office on 01603 782808 or manager@nbyc.co.uk

At 6.15pm on the evening of 5th May 2018 there will be a talk by Sophie Neville about the filming of the series.  (Sophie Neville starred in the  original 1974 film “Swallows and Amazons”, playing the character “Titty” and was part of the production team for the 1980’s television series).

Following the talk there will be a hatch supper at 7.30pm.

The event is open to members and their guests and anyone who brings a boat to the event that featured in the TV series.

Advanced booking is essential 01603 782808 or manager@nbyc.co.uk.
