Role Purpose: |
To work with the NBYC RTC Principal and the Head of Training to ensure the delivery of a comprehensive training programme through an extended sailing season. To maintain the ethos of the training centre as a Club service, providing courses and training to sustain and grow membership. |

Responsibilities: |
Developing and increasing the training programme with the Principal and Head of Training. Identify and respond to Club members’ training needs. Delivering training in line with Club procedures, RYA guidelines and best practice. Reviewing and updating Club training procedures with the Principal. Safety Management of training activities together with the Principal. Training, development and management of instructor team. Maintenance of training boats. Manage bookings alongside the Club Administrator. Administer Club boat hire to members. Attending Training Committee meetings as requested. Carry out other Club duties as directed. |
When: |
Some weekdays and Saturdays as required, with occasional evenings. |
Potential Time Requirement |
During season ASAP – end October (to be agreed). Minimum hours 17.5 per week guaranteed for agreed term which will include a number of Saturdays. It is anticipated that approximately 525 hours work will be available in a full season and this will hopefully increase as the business grows. This will be, in the first instance, a seasonal employment contract. |
Skills: Essential

RYA Senior Dinghy Instructor with valid and current first aid certificate. Enhanced DBS check will be required (can be organised by NBYC). Very self motivated. Effective communicator and with good organisational skills. Approachable, friendly and visible within the Club. Able to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds. |
Preferable |
Keel Boat Instructor Endorsement or Keelboat experience. Race Instructor endorsement / Level 2 Race Coach. Powerboat Instructor. Advanced Instructor. |
Experience |
Senior Instructor 1-2 years experience minimum. Experience of Club training activities. Experience of working with both adults and children. Experience of managing a team of Instructors and Volunteers. |
